War-date Union soldier’s Autograph Letter Signed “William M. Wilson” 13th Ohio Infantry, who enlisted April 24, 1861 and served with the 13th until July 1863 when he transferred to the Veteran Reserves, 2pp. quarto, Nashville, Tennessee, June 23, 1863, and reads in part: “...I am still at the convelescent camp if the regiment marches I may stay at Murfreesboro to hold the forts I may go to them...I ain’t to leave here till I am well...if our division is left at Murfreesboro I don’t believe we will ever have to march any more for their will have to be troops there as long as the war lasts and if we get to stay there we will serve our time out berfore they relieve us. Everything is quite at Murfreesboro and Nashville now, everybody is looking anxiously for the fall of Vicksburg here. I don’t think old Rosey will move forward till it does fall but when he does move the rebels will have to lookout for when he goes for a place he is going to take it...” Good.
