H., Feb. 19, 1865, in part: "…there has been great talk about Peace here but we now learn that it resulted in President Lincoln's shaking hands with the rebel commissioners and parting. We all…look for at least six months more war but still anyone cannot tell what a day may bring forth but I do hope that this war will end soon…Wm. W. Gray…". VG.
