Broadsheet advertising the Congressional campaign of Black Panther Party co-founder Huey Newton, as well as the national Peace and Freedom ticket (on the reverse), which includes Eldridge Cleaver for President and Bobby Seale for the California State Assembly. Founded in 1967 in opposition to the Vietnam War, the Peace and Freedom Party gained enough support to run on the ballot in California in 1968. Their platform statement calls for immediate withdrawal from Vietnam, support for the working people, community control of police, fair trials for minorities, and an end to income taxes on working class citizens.
