LEE, Henry (1756-1818) also known as Light-Horse Harry Lee, was an early American Patriot who served as the ninth Governor of Virginia and as the Virginia Representative to the United States Congress. During the American Revolution, Lee served as a cavalry officer in the Continental Army and earned the nickname "Light-Horse Harry". Document Signed “Henry Lee” as Virginia Governor, 15” x 12-1/2”, partially printed, August 12, 1794, VG. The land grant document issued “by virtue of a warrant issued from the State Proprietor’s office of the Northern Neck and in consideration of the ancient composition of one pound Sterling paid by Isaac Smith ....” for “175 acres lying and being in the county of Culpepper ....”
