A good war-date USCT form issuing new clothing to Pvt. John Curtus, Co. C, 30th United States Colored Infantry, at the U. S. General Hospital, Fortress Monroe, Va., March 4, 1865. This pre-printed, 8vo., form addressed to Curtus' commander Capt. William H. Jordan shows that Private Curtus received shirts, stockings and trousers on that day. The 30th USTC lost heavily during the battle of the Crater in killed, wounded and missing. Signed and made official by VRC Lt. Robert Cullen formerly of the 74th Ohio. Near fine.
