A good war-date Confederate "Estimate and Assessment of Agricultural products" document tallying South Carolina's Jacob Shaman's allotment of Confederate Government assessed farm produce, cotton and sheep wool. This pre-printed form, 2pp. large folio, allows for the showing of the required assessment of certain farmers in order to provide for the military might of the government. This document shows that Shaman produced 44 bushels of peas and over 2900 pounds of fodder for the Confederacy in the beginning of 1864 while one of two attached receipts shows that he provided forty pounds of cotton.
