Card, HOLIDAY GREETINGS FROM U.S.S. LANGLEY, 3 1/4" x 5 1/2", December 25, 1924. A Christmas dinner menu is on the verso of this card showing the U.S.S. Langley in the Panama Canal. In 1922 the Langley was commissioned as the Navy's first aircraft carrier and she served as such until rendered obsolete by newer, more advanced carriers. In 1942 while sailing as a tender, the Langley was lost in action against the Japanese. Aging and a small stain on the verso, else Fine condition.
