Book, DIE REICHSWEHR, 70 pages, 11 3/4" x 12", 1933, Germany. This massive album was a joint production by Germany's leading cigarette companies on the eve of Hitler's ascent to power. 280 cigarette cards with full color drawings of the German war machine are pasted onto its pages. Every facet of life in the armed services is amply illustrated from induction to combat. Shown are infantry, cavalry, artillery, fliers, and sailors. Uniforms and equipment are meticulously drawn and explained with detailed text. Being a pre-Nazi overview of the military, there is not a swastika to be seen here. Overall VF condition.
