A Union soldier’s letter written and signed by who on 8/24/1862 he mustered into "G" Co. CT 16th Infantry . He was listed as POW 4/20/1864 Plymouth, NC, and died a POW at Andersonville. The 4pp letter with original cover is datelined Plymouth, N.C. Jan. 27th 1864. In small part, “Well we had a good time on our voyage. We went about 500 miles. We went to New Berne, N.C. and from there to Plymouth, N.C. and I think that is the place that God made and that he never finished, for it is nothing but wood and swamp and a few old houses and the rest are burnt.”
