A mixed lot of 14 Prisoner of War postal items from the First and Second World Wars. Included are letters, post cards, and covers with origins in Allied and Axis camps. From WWI are two post cards written by Italians. The WWII material also consists largely of messages to various locations in Italy. One of these items - a post card from September 18, 1943 - was mailed from Camp Butner in North Carolina. There is also a short letter home from an Englishman being held by the Italians. Much of the correspondence bears hand-stamps showing that it had passed the scrutiny of military censors. The overall condition of these scarce items is Fine.
