A rare Gettysburg College presentation copy of the desirable battle of Gettysburg book, entitled: "The REBEL INVASION of MARYLAND & PENNSYLVANIA and BATTLE of GETTYSBURG", 47pp. 8vo., authored by Gettysburg Professor Michael Jacobs, Lippincott & Co., Philadelphia, 1864. The inside front cover bears this period presentation: "Presented to Annie Fleisher Earnest during the Civil War by her friend Mr. Leitz who was a student in Gettysburg College in 1865 and was called into service with the student body. Presented to Richard B. Earnest by his mother June 8, 1907." This book still retains its much sought after map of Gettysburg battlefield. Worthy of further research to pin point Mr. Leitz identity.
