Hand Colored Etching, “The King of Brobdingnag and Gulliver, (Plate 2d)” 18-1/2’ x 15” (site), matted in modern frame, etched by J(ames) Gillray, London, 1804 by H. Humphrey. In part the caption reads, “I often used to row for my diversion, as well as that of the queen and her ladies, who thought themselves agreeably entertained with my skill and agility. Sometimes I would put up my sail and shew my art by steering starboard or larboard as I pleased. ...” King George III and Queen Charlotte seated on chairs of state, watch a small rectangular tank in which Napoleon as Gulliver sails his boat. Lord Salisbury stands behind king's chair. Four princesses and three pages also watch.
