Partly- Printed document, one page, 17 x 21.25, August 5, 1843. Shipping document outlining rules for the seaman on board a ship, including “No profane language allowed on board” and “No grog allowed.’ In part: “It is agreed, Between the Masters, Seaman, or Mariners, of the Bark Elvira of Boston, whereof Saml. Graves is at a present Master, or whoever shall go for Master, now bound from the Port of New York, to Gibraltar, and Malaga, and back to the United States.” A crew roster is filled out below and approved by a customs officer. In very good condition.
