A good ca. 1881 printed, 1p. oblong 8vo., advertisement for an "Alto-Relievo Bronzed Profile Cast of OUR MARTYRED PRESIDENT, James A. Garfield." On pink paper, the announcement offers "steady employment and good pay to active men and women" to those who would be willing to act as agents selling the advertised profiles. Prices were $1.50 individually for memorial style in black frame or .75 for agents. An great association piece for the collector who is lucky enough to have one of these rare memorials today! VG
