An oringinal copy of the FIRST ISSUE of Sports Illustrated, August 16, 1954, complete and fine is given to Floyd Patterson as evidenced by the accompanying letter. The August 1, 1989 typed letter on S/I letterhead reads in part, “”It is my great pleasure to present this original copy of the FIRST SPORTS ILLUSTRTED to you in honor of our 35th birthday ...” Signed by Donald Barr, Publisher. The magazine and letter are presented in a custom slip case. All pieces are fine.
