GREENAWAY, KATE (1846 - 1901) British artist renowned for her illustrations for children's books such as Mother Goose and Under the Window. Original drawing of a young girl wearing a long gown and hat, leaning against a wooden gate, executed in pencil on a 2 1/2" x 4" cream sheet. This drawing was likely the prelimary sketch for a book illustratrion, ca. 1800's. Four small pinholes at the corners, not affecting the picture, slight toning, overall very good. A charming Greenaway item, perfect for display!
