KHRUSCHEV, NIKITA (1906 - 1982) Soviet leader who engineered the ouster of Khrushchev, chairman of the Presidium, and established the Brezhnev Doctrine entitling the Soviet Union to interfere in affairs of Warsaw Pact countries. Rare D.S. "N. Khruschev" as First secretary of the All Union Central Committee, 2pp. 8" x 2", [Moscow], 1952, a red leather-bound identification book with gold lettering issued to a high-ranking party official and bearing the man's picture and an official stamp within, boldly signed by Khruschev in dark brown ink at lower right. Khruschev is rare in any form, this example is most relevant and attractive.
