Original, bust portrait watercolor on paper., 6”x4”, of Oliver Hazard Perry (1785-1819) The man who was to lead the Lake Erie fleet to victory during the War of 1812. Fine rendering of Perry in uniform. The artist has applied gold leaf to the epaulet and buttons. Inscribed at the bottom, "Oliver H.Perry Esq., of the United States Navy. Painted by Louisa Shirtliff". VG. Framed.
