Wood carving, 3" x 15", ca. 19th century. Four lengths of chain and a cube are carved from a single block of wood and attached to another oval carving. This enigmatic piece is strung with the following label: "Apprentice seaman's required carpentry hand work". Quite well made and obviously old. VG condition.
