Real Photo Postacrd of the infamous lynching of Allen Brooks who was accused of molesting a three-year-old white girl. During the trial, an angry mob stormed the courtroom and took him out and lynched him from a street pole at Main and Aleard streets, Dallas, March 3, 1910. The postcard was mailed with a brief descrition, in large part “I suppose you read of what happened here the 3rd. i was working ... but got to see part of it. An ink mark is drawn across my hat on the other side....” Very rare to have a witness to a lynching.
