Uncolored Broadside, 17” x 22”, “In Memory of Alprentice ‘Bunchy’ Carter, Southern California Deputy Minister of Defense, BLACK PANTHER PARTY, 1:30 PM Friaday January 24, 1969 ....” published by Black Panther Party, Los Angeles. Near fine, rolled. The broadside has a 8” x 10” photograph image of Carter below which “Born: October 12, 1942, Assassinated: January 17, 1969.” It continues with the details of the funeral. Carter was an American activist and is credited as a founding member of the Southern California chapter of the Black Panther Party. Carter was shot and killed by a rival group, and is celebrated by his supporters as a martyr in the Black Power movement in the United States.
