FERGUSON, Samuel Wragg (1834-1817) was a senior officer of the Confederate States Army who commanded cavalry in the Western Theater of the American Civil War. Document Signed “S.W. Ferguson, Brig. Gen.,” approving the payment for 9 horses killed in action for the 56th Alabama Cavalry. It is also endorsed by Lt. Col William Martin and Col. Wm Boyles. The 8” x 5” document is light.
