Letter entirely in Rehine's hand from Warrenton, Virginia, June 24, 1839 to his nephew. Single page (blank on reverse). Says there is not much news but will "…only say what will please you most" describing his own health better and that his aunt is "…thank God not worse…Sunday we shall go back to the spring, please God, and stay three or four weeks so that we shall return before [Hebrew word]. The spring is one of the best in this or any other country, that is to say, the convenient [countries]…rooms enough to lodge one thousand people. Last year there were 880 persons there at one time. They are improving the place with everything for the better. The company we found here were very friendly and kind…the servants very obliging. Well, why should they not, we pay them for their trouble. We pay $9 per week for which we had 2 herring, 4 eggs, potatoes and plenty milk. Other news I have none…" Exc.
