MR. MONTIFURE [sic]…drawn, etch'd and pub. by Rich'd Dighton is original small printed caption on lower margin of this original "1824" dated color print "pub'd by Thomas McLean / London / 1824" (also on margin). Quite a fascinating view of the famous Jewish philanthropist as a young man wearing modish dress of the period, standing in a casual, relaxed pose. Original full 9½ x 13 size. Just few very short tears on the edge of the bottom wide margin. One tiny tape repair to edge only of margin on left side, but nothing lacking; light dust marks along outer margins only. Color and print itself exc. His position in American Jewish history is prominent for his tireless exertions on behalf of settlement of his oppressed brethren.
