A wonderful Civil War letter, 4pp. 8vo., by New York City attorney and Harvard graduate Rufus Billing Cowing (1840-1920), New York [City], Feb. 21, 1862 to his mother, reading, in part: "…find a letter from brother K…his division has moved onto Bowling Green but as usual the enemy had run away before his division had reached there…the rebels are getting pretty badly handled of late &…60 days more will terminate this unnatural & unholy war…K will make a good business man…Rufus. Near fine.
