Two Union letters written by “William” W. Fish who enlisted 8/8/1862 as a private into C company., NH 11th Infantry. He was wounded at fredericksburg, captured 5/6/1864 at the Wilderness. Both letters are from “Camp parole, Annapolis MD. The first February 15, 1865, 3pp., to his sister; the second February 22, 1865, 2pp., to his Mother. These letters are very interesting because they describe camp life, living conditions, etc. in this enormous camp at Annapolis… actually, there aren’t many letters we have seen that do a better job! Most are short and not very descriptive.
