A good post-war Signal Corps letter, 1p. 4to., written by Bvt. Capt. Lucius A. Dillingham [formerly of the 122nd New York Vols.], Coldwater, Mich., Dec. 10, 1866 reading, in part: "When I made my application for appointment to the Signal Corps I sent…eight letters of recommendation some of which it is impossible now to replace. These letter would be of great service …I…ask that they be returned to me if it is possible…these were letters from Daniel S. Dickinson, Horatio Ballard…etc…with best wishes for yourself and the corps…Lucius A. Dillingham…". Near fine.
