Single sheet (blank reverse) neatly penned letter to Isidore Binswanger (prominent in all Phila. Jewish communal affairs) from N. Kahn, Hagerstown, August 3, 1862 asking for his assistance to the "Congregation of Hagerstown...that…desires to employ a man suitable as [Hebrew words] to teach a Hebrew school. A salary of $300 per annum. Good reccomentation [sic] required…" Asks Binswanger's assistance in getting the ad placed in the "OSCCITENT [sic]" "…I presume you will get it pupliched [sic] three times for one dollar for which I will pay when I get to Philadelphia." Light aging. Exc.
