1878 dated booklet "ADDRESS DELIVERED AT THE FUNERAL OF REV. S. M. ISAACS. …Forty-Fourth Street Synagogue, N.Y. May 22, 5638-1878,…by Rev. S. Morais." Published by "Jewish Messenger print." 8 pages, with bold black mourning border on each. Original black paper cover embossed in silver "IN MEMORIAM / REV. S. M. ISAACS." Exc. (Lacking only back paper cover). Isaacs was at first leader of the B'Nai Jeshurun (Elm Street) Synagogue in New York and when a scism divided the temple in 1847 he led new congregation of Shaaray Tefila until his death. (Singerman No. 2706) Very scarce.
