Original, fine, full autograph signature "HENRIETTA SZOLD" on this 2 page (each blank on reverse) typed letter to Judge Mayer Sulzberger; printed letterhead "JEWISH PUBLICATION SOCIETY OF AMERICA / PHILADELPHIA" Nov. 22, 1906. She writes that Prof. Loeb "declined to cooperate with our committee on the Directory" because he was traveling abroad and Dr. Adler unable to attend the meeting: "…Dr. Jacobs and myself went over the matter…decided to write [six] national organizations [she names each] and ask whether they would be inclined to give the Society financial support in publishing the Directory…and asks for postponement of a meeting about same. Exc.
