JABOTINSKY, Vladimir (1880-1940) Author of Zionist journal, several novels and an autobiography. Autograph Letter Signed, V. Jabotinsky, 1p. quarto, in Hebrew, London, April 29, 1939, addressed to Ben-Gurion, it reads in part: “...Would you be able to help Mrs. Matilde Gallichi-Roifer to obtain a ‘Property’ certificate?...Mrs. R. is th widow of the late Giorgio Roifer from Pisa, Italy, my friend who set up and helped with our Day School in Tzivitavkia...he established a commercial entity in theLand, but he suddenly died. His widow was born in Italy to a Jewish Italian family, and in devoition to the memory and ideals of her late husband wants to go up to the Land and educate her three children there...” About VG. Rare letter from Jabotinsky to Ben-Gurion, who were ideological rivals. Ben-Gurion assisted with the request and the family arrived in Palestine in 1939.
