Autograph Letter Signed, “Stanley” 1p. octavo, August 30, 1863, and reads in part: “...I do not think that it is expedient at present to recognie the Southern Confederation, and holding that opinion, I cannot consistantly join the society which you represent...” Mounted, else Good.
