Framed albumen photograph, 10" x 11 3/4", ca. 1880, Decatur, Texas. A splendid outdoor image showing a full brass band posing before the Mississippi Store. Perhaps this display was staged for the store's Grand Opening event. Emblazoned across the drum-skin is "Murphy Bennet & Co. Cornet Band Decatur, Tx". The photograph has aged nicely to a delicate sepia tone and is housed in a dark veneer frame with ivory inlays. Overall VG condition.
