Levi Morton was Vice President under Benjamin Harrison from 1889-1893, and ran for Governor of New York in 1894, defeating David Hill. David Hill was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President in 1892, and Governor of New York from 1885-1892, running again in 1894 only to loose to Morton. The broadside measures 7 ¼” X 13 ¾” and is in excellent condition. The piece at the top reads “Hill or Morton Will Be Our Next Governor”. There is also some great local advertising for a clothing and shoe store. A nice political Broadside for two popular local-national candidates.
