Exceptionally fine original stipple engraving, portrait of GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON, engraver unknown, published c1790s. Oval portrait measures 4" X 3." On verso is written in early hand in ink: "GENERAL WASHINGTON." Image has been trimmed and mounting traces are present on verso, otherwise in overall fine condition with very little evidence of toning. A fine clean original image with no stains, tears or repairs. Perfect for mounting and reframing.
