Moore” 3p. quarto, on “HARRISON MEDAL” lettersheet, with two 2-1/2” circumfrance views of the front and back of the medal, and the paragraph by James Monroe giving Harrison the ‘Thanks of Congress’ , the letter dated November 29, 1840, reads in part: “...If you want any further proof of the estimation in which Harrison is held than the above, I will refer you to the following majorities for him in the States of Indiana, Ohio, & Kentucky, where he is well known. The official vote of Indiana is as follows: Harrison 65,276/Van Buren 51,695/Harrison majority 13,581...To which add in Ohio 23, 361/ in Kentucky 25,783...making in these three states 62,725 maj.!!. A very pretty little majority for three states to give...Penna. did actually go for Harrison, but as the monkey said to the cat, ‘it was a damned tight fit’... The engraving on this sheet is a copy of the gold medal given by Congress to Genl. Harrison...” About VG.
