Exceedingly rare sepia-tone image of Buffalo Bill and the members of his Wild West show on the side of the hill leading up to the monument at Waterloo, Belgium (site of Napoleon's famous defeat). 11.75" x 9," dated in the negative June 2, 1891, Fine or better. A fabulous image of American Indians, Chiefs, band members, and even Buffalo Bill standing beneath the huge, leonine monument at the top of the hill. Possibly unique and certainly the first we've ever seen of this remarkable image. None of the experts we've spoken to have ever seen this image before, either, making this a wonderful opportunity for the Cody collector.
