Carte-de-visite photo portrait of George Albee; full standing view in frock coat, waist belt and belt plate, holding kepi in hand. Very youthful looking young lieutenant (had yet to grow his moustache); sword in hand. Normal aging and toning, but exc. Reverse with his hometown "Madison, Wisconsin" fancy printed photographer's label and U.S. revenue stamp affixed. Original penned inscription in Albee's hand "…yours muchly / Geo. E. Albee / 1'st Lt. 36'th Wisc Vols / Madison, Wisconsin July, 1865." Accompanying this are six all identical carte-de-visite type but smaller (2 x 3 each) photographic copies of a Civil War type drawing of a young officer standing just as Albee is in the photograph with a scenic type background and in the center an inscription "Geo. E. Albee" each on original paperboard card. Normal aging and sepia toning. Most likely used by Albee as personal calling cards. The group…
