Fancy printed form completed in a bold penned hand. 8½ x 11 Large American eagle standing on shield and panoply of flags at top. Issued to George Albee as 2'nd Lieut. of the 36'th Reg't U.S. Colored Infantry…dated October 28, 1866 "…Given at Brazos, Santiago Island, Texas…District of Galveston," (at the tip of the state and bordering on Mexico). Original bold signature Colonel John H. Hart of the 36'th U.S.C.I. Normal aging; exc. with very neatly penned two line inscription along top indicating Albee's service with four different Civil War outfits including Berdan's Sharpshooters. ACCOMPANIED WITH three other fancy printed and ink completed official Army and War Department forms issued to Albee 1865 through 1867, each different, two of which acknowledge his promotion to lieutenant (different type forms) and another informing him that he has "passed a satisfactory examination [for the] BOARD TO EXAMINE OFFICERS APPOINTED TO THE INFANTRY OF THE ARMY." All three forms issued with outfits that were U.S. Colored Troops. All light aging, but exc. The group of four pieces….
