Original carte-de-visite photo portrait; wearing officer shoulder straps and kepi. Inscribed in three lines on front in his hand "Geo. E. Albee / 1'st Lieut 24'th Infantry / Jan. 27, 1870." Normal light aging and sepia toning, but exc. +. Original fancy gold imprinted panel on reverse in which he has inscribed in very tiny script, that this was taken on his birthday (with date) and evidently during a visit in Mexico.
