Document Signed, 1 page. May 2, 1785. A resolution by the State of Connecticut for the payment of "Bills of this state, equal to Hard Money". Frances Moyon had fled from the British occupation and at the time was not aware of the state's order for payment to her in bills. This resolution was enacted in order to pay her the amounts due. In part, "Upon the Memorial of Frances Moyon of New York showing that in the year 1776, the received 106.5.6, in the bills of this state, equal to hard money, that she fled from New York, to New Rochelle to avoid the British Troops, and there resided during the late war, and never knew of the order of this state, for the delivering in said bills to the treasurer, within the time limited praying for relief as pr. Memorial…"An interesting financial document displaying the post-revolution issues faced by many individuals. Fine.
