Document Signed. 1pg. 4 ¼" x 1 ¾". No date. No place [likely Washington, DC]. A printed lottery ticket signed "Nathan Young". The ticket reads: "This Ticket will entitle the Possessor to such Prize as may be drawn to its Number, in Lottery No. 1, for cutting the Canal through the City of Washington to the Easter-Branch Harbour". Lotteries were popular ways of funding public and private projects in early America. The lottery ticket is in very good condition with a dark signature.
