A group of two complete and authentic issue of The Federal Gazette & Baltimore Daily Advertiser, Baltimore, September 1, 1796 & October 7, 1796, both 4pp. and disbound. Each issue has interesting slave runaway advertisements. From the September 1, 1796, issue rough margins not affecting text. Five ads to include two on page two . Each ad places a reward on a runaway which was captured and escaped ... 15 year old Moses who was captured on Philadelphia road and made his escape before being brought home; and, Joe, about 14 years old was apprehended on York Road but made his escape ... "as he is an artful villain." Then from the October 7, 1796, two ads including a back page ad two runaway men who robbed a house and set it afire in Petersburg VA. Then boarded the sloop Trimmer and landed at Baltimore, passed by the names of Peter and Jonas having borrowed certificates of freedom from two mulattos ... Unique.
