Datelined Camp Roswell Battalion Cavalry, Stockbridge 1st Sept. 1864, in full, "I have the honor to apply for permission to send a scout of six men to the vicinities of Roswell McAfee and Brown Bridge on Chattahoochee River in order to bring out some men and horses which belong to this Battalion."
