An excellent two piece grouping includes; Beautiful printed stationary displaying a 7-1/2" x 4-1/2" birds eye view of the hospital, "View of Hammond Genl. Hospital & U.S. Genl. Depot for Prisoners of War" which has been annotated with twelve points detailed in the base of the stationary and marked in position on the birds eye view. The stationary is copyright 1864 by George Everett who also published a color map of the same image. ... plus, Letter Signed "W.H. Garnder" on Hammond General Hospital, Point Lookout, MD. stationary, 1pp., September 3, 1863, in part "Guards will pass outside the lines to the mouth of the creek in a boat for the purpose of fishing ... This pass expires at 5 O'clock PM this day ... By order of the Surgeon in Charge."
