Pair of "Certificate of Indebtedness" issued by the State of New York, 1865, and records substantial sums of money for two towns to pay their enlisted men.First is May 18, 1865 for the town of Pine Plains for Ten-thousand, two-hundred. .. plus, for the town of Stephentown for Fourteen-thousand and Four-hundred. Fine condition. ...plus, Pair of two "State of New York...Debt for the Payment of Bounties to Volunteers" certificates, each 1pp. oblong folio, with nice vignette of marching soldiers going to battle, July, 1866, issued at Albany, for $5,000 each. Fine condition.
