Union soldier's 2pp., letter comes with its original patriotic cover, written by Horace M. Curtis who mustered into "Batty A" Co. RI 1st Light Artillery, was wounded 7/3/1863 Gettysburg, PA., transferred into "G" Co. Veteran Reserve Corps 9th Regt. and mustered out on 6/6/1864. Datelined, Camp near Falmouth Va., March 13, 1863. In part, "... take this opportunity to send .. some of the rings I have made this winter... I have a nice ring for you but it is not quite finished yet ... the ring had two hearts on it. ..."
