Alexander Gardner Bank Check Signed "Alex Gardner." 7-1/2"" x 3", blue check stock paper, Washington, D.C., February 27, 1880. The noted Civil War photographer endorses a check as Secretary of the Masonic Mutual Relief Association of the District of Columbia. The check is drawn on Riggs & Co. in the amount of $40.00, is made payable to Gibson Brothers. The check also bears the endorsements of John E. Herrell as president. The check bears the usual perforated cancellations and has a small closed tear ,else it is in very good condition.
