Autograph Letter Signed, "Moses Myers", 2p. quarto, Norfolk, June 25, 1829, addressed to James Nimmo, President of the Auxilery Colonization Society. This letter consists of an Autograph Letter Signed by Myers on the obverse, in which he communicates to Nimmo "When last I had the pleasure of meeting you in the street I asked the favor of a reply to my respects of 29 March last - you informed me you feared you had mislaid it, wherefore I now trouble you with a copy…" with the reverse containing the a copy of the original letter though it is still in Myers hand and reads "A respected friend of mine, has requested me to apply the sum of $200 as an individual contribution to the home objects of the Colonization Society for transporting liberated slaves from Virginia to Africa, he further says…withholding my name altogether mentioning only if necessary that it is the contribution of a friend of yours in Boston…This amount I will be ready to pay on the first of July next to such member of your society as may be duly authorized to receive it…" VG.
