Autograph Letter Signed, “Tyre Glen” 3p. folio, Yadkin, North Carolina, February 23, 1833, with integral leaf addressed to Isaac Jarrett in Montgomery, Alabama, and reads in part: “...I found at Huntersville a man by the name of Boggs wishing to purchase negroes...purchased Isaac Redings boy at $450,...Davis...told me privatly that Redings wisht to sell tho not to a speculator and that he would purchase for me and sent Boggs there directly after I left, left a contract for the girl and boy child 3 months old not closed when he took the boy a way. I purchased them the next day at $355...I have purchased Louise of PD Kelly at $475 paid one hundred down and gave him a note for 375 payable the 1st of Apr. 1834 a very large and tolerable liely fellow of Hollensworth at $450, Ralph of Elder Patterson at $425, he keeps him until his crop is finished unles he becomes unruly...” More.
